Christmas Comes Early at College View Elementary School As Students Celebrate the Holidays with their J.D. Edwards Mentors

WHO: More than 500 College View Elementary students and 50 J.D. Edwards & Company employees.

WHAT: College View Elementary and J.D. Edwards & Company participate in a yearlong pen pal program to help promote literacy through letter correspondence. To celebrate the holiday season, J.D. Edwards will be traveling to College View to help their pen pals with holiday stories. They will also deliver holiday gifts of a book to each student.

WHERE: College View Elementary - 2675 S. Decatur Street; Denver, CO

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 20, 2 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.

ABOUT: The College View Elementary and J.D. Edwards Pen Pal Program is a unique collaboration that promotes increasing students’ English writing and reading comprehension skills while simultaneously closing the gap of the “digital divide.” With more than 150 J.D. Edwards participants from around the world, students at College View are provided a mentor to aid them throughout the school year with language, reading and comprehension skills. Students are also exposed to professional opportunities and career tracks they may not typically encounter otherwise.
