The spirit of sharing has taken shape this holiday season at Dora Moore School in the form of a real "Giving Tree."

Inspired by State Treasurer Mike Coffman's reading of the Shel Silverstein story of the same name during Principal T. Jason Martinez's Book of the Month Club Project, the school has created a real giving tree to help fill students' and teachers' needs for school supplies.

Teachers, parents, administrators and members of the community select needed articles posted on the limbs of the Dora Moore Giving Tree and donate those items to the requesting classroom.

Since the inception of the Giving Tree, students and teachers have received free of charge basic tools to help make their classroom experience a success. Those who have generously donated the needed items have shared in that experience and demonstrated the true spirit of the holiday.
