Beach Court Elementary is hosting Family Literacy Night this evening (Thursday, Nov. 7) from 6:00 p. m. - 7:30 p. m.

Community Resources, Inc. (CRI) is coordinating the program in conjunction with Beach Court Principal Frank Roti and the school's two literacy coaches, Patty Crabtree and Katie Schowalter Shively.

The evening will begin in the auditorium with a presentation given to parents by Cyndi Burdick (Executive Director of CRI) focusing on various strategies that will positively impact reading at home and increase parental support for the DPS Literacy Program.

The children will then report to specific classrooms to listen to stories read by members of the CRI Team. Parents will then join their children in the classrooms to help select a free book to take home and practice the learned strategies with family members.
