Smiley Middle School will host its annual Family Math Night on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Smiley’s math teachers along with parent and student volunteers will sponsor math related activities and games for families and students to learn more about middle school math curriculum and concepts.
Students and families will have the opportunity to participate in games, math art projects and win prizes donated by local businesses at the event. A light dinner, prepared by a local restaurant, will also be provided by the PTSA.
The purpose of the event is to encourage learning and to showcase the important math concepts that students are learning. Smiley math teachers are committed to teaching students these concepts so that they can succeed in high school, said Principal Nathaniel Howard.
Smiley Middle School encourages families, friends and community members to check out the activities and the learning that occurs at this family event, Howard said.
