Nine Charter School Applications Will Be Presented To Board of Education Thursday, Nov. 7; Meeting Begins At 3 P.M.

The Board of Education will begin its meeting tomorrow at 3 p.m. – one hour earlier than usual – in order to hear presentations from the authors of nine charter school proposals.

The meeting will be held in the First Floor Board Room at 900 Grant St.
The Charter School applicants are:

  • Denver Big Picture High School #1 and #2
  • Harriet Tubman Charter School
  • Cole/Clayton Neighborhood Learning Centers
  • Northeast Academy
  • Compass Academy
  • Walsingham Academy
  • Summit Academy
  • Life Skills Center

Also on the agenda is a staff analysis of the proposal to add a Montessori program at Lincoln Elementary School (710 S. Pennsylvania St.).

At 7 p.m., the Board will co-host its monthly public hearing with the CDM Commission, a group examining the future of site-based decision making in Denver Public Schools. To date, three speakers have signed up to speak about the CDM (Collaborative Decision-Making) process in Denver.
