Denver Board Of Education Schedules Four Schools For Monthly Public Hearings

Beginning in November, the Board of Education will begin using schools as venues for its monthly public hearing schedule, alternating with the traditional location in the district administration building.

Superintendent Jerry Wartgow and Board of Education President Elaine Gantz Berman announced the new schedule for the balance of the 2002-2003 school year, including stops at four new school buildings around the district.

The first school on the schedule is the brand new Bruce Randolph Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 7.

The public hearings will begin at the same time as usual — 7 p.m.

The monthly public hearings are held to allow any parents, students, teachers, district employees, or any community members to address the Board of Education.

Speakers who want to address the Board are asked to call the Board of Education office by 4 p.m. on the day of the hearing to sign up to speak. The telephone number is 720-423-3210.

Superintendent Wartgow said the Board would conduct its entire meeting schedule – including work sessions and Regular Meeting – at the schools where the public hearings are held.
