Steele Elementary School is honored to host a special memorial wall for the victims of September 11th. The wall will be in the auditorium on November 5th and 6th for the entire day.
Trevino Mortuary, located at 300 S. Logan St., created a special tribute in recognition of the one-year anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The mortuary constructed a 24-foot wall bearing the names of all 3,044 known victims who died at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and on Flight #93 in Pennsylvania. This memorial is in tribute to those lives, families, and friends.
The managers of the Trevino Mortuary, Michelle Adams and Roger Carlson, remarked that, “The terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 affected all Americans in a very significant way. We were not immune in our community. Many Americans and communities are lost as to what they can do to mark the anniversary of this tragedy. The Trevino Mortuary staff wanted to provide a way for our community to appropriately express their grief in support of those more directly impacted by the tragedy. Trevino Mortuary has always been here to support our community in times of grief; we see this tribute as being an important part of being a resource to you, our community.”
The wall will be in the auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Wednesday, Nov. 6. Steele Middle School encourages everyone to visit this memorial and honor the victims of September 11th.
Steele Middle is located at 320 S. Marion St., 303-744-1717.
