Visits to two Denver Public Schools Gifted and Talented Programs are among the highlights of the National Association for Gifted Children convention, beginning this week in Denver.
The 49th annual convention begins Wednesday, Oct. 30 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Adams Mark Hotel.
The Highly Gifted/High Achiever Programs at Crofton Elementary and Morey Middle School will be two of four programs showcased on Oct. 31 during one of several a sessions called “Individual Approach to Diverse Populations.”
Visitors from across the country will observe and visit with school administrators and students. They will also visit two private schools, the Ricks Center at the University of Denver and the Logan School for Creative Learning. The focus of the day will be on how these schools create a community of learners while integrating individuality and diversity.
On Oct. 31, the tour will visit Morey Middle School (840 E. 14th Avenue) from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Crofton Elementary (2409 Arapahoe St.) beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Gifted and talented education teachers and administrators from the district also will be attending and presenting at the convention.
