Today is the 71st birthday for Horace Mann Middle School, which officially opened its doors on Oct. 23, 1931. To commemorate the occasion/ the school’s Student Council will host an all-school assembly during the eighth period in the school auditorium.
The Student Council has invited two Horace Mann alumni to speak, including former Denver Fire Chief Richard Gonzales and local artist Andy Mendoza.
The school will also display an anniversary / birthday banner outside and photo memorabilia, including yearbooks.
The Student Council is an after-school program hosted by the Horace Mann Neighborhood Center in collaboration with the middle school.
