Two Denver Public Schools math teachers were honored by the Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics at the state conference this month.
Cheri Hannah, sixth grade teacher at Slavens Elementary, received the Outstanding Math Teacher Award from the Council.
Julie Murgel, math specialist for the southwest area, won the Presidential Award. She previously taught at Slavens.
As part of her award, Murgel receives a trip to Washington, D.C., next spring and $2,000 for her class.
