Wednesday, Oct. 16, will be “Barbara Johnston Day” at University Park Elementary School as students, parents, and faculty at the school will honor the long-time community volunteer.

Parents at the school will provide a luncheon for Ms. Johnston at 11:30 a.m. and the school will hold an assembly at 1:10 p.m. to recognize her hard work and dedication.

For 11 years running, Ms. Johnston has done a wide variety of things at the school, from teaching students to read to performing much needed clerical activities.
