Joe Craft, DPS Shakespeare Festival Coordinator, will receive the Theater Educator of the Year Award from The Alliance for Colorado Theatre, an organization of state drama educators.

The award will be presented on Saturday, September 21, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arvada Center for the Arts, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, CO.

Joe’s many contributions to drama education will be described including his development and coordination of the DPS Shakespeare Festival for nineteen years, a signature event for the school district that brings the experience of Shakespeare to students at all levels. Joe’s other work includes Arts Infusion and the on-line E-Shakespeare staff development effort, launched last year in a cooperative effort involving Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Qwest Communications, Jones Knowledge, Inc. and DPS.
