Denver Community School Launches Fall Session

Denver Community School (DCS) will launch its fall 2002 classes on Monday, Sept. 9. Classes include fine art, swimming, yoga, woodworking, computers, gardening, gymnastics, ceramics, martial arts, dance, music, fitness, Spanish, kids classes, legal clinics, volleyball, women's basketball, racquetball, Tai Chi and astrology.

DCS partners with agencies across the city to offer specialized classes. Partners include Art Students League, Botanical Gardens, Swallow Hill, Colorado Clay Project, Denver Mile High Karate and the Colorado School of Gymnastics.

About 3,000 community members participate in these low-cost classes each year. Singles, seniors, professionals and children can find something of interest. Explore the full range of class offerings at Gove, Hamilton and Morey Neighborhood Center.

“The Community School is a way that we welcome our community members into our schools and invite them to be lifelong learners. We encourage people of all ages to take advantage of these courses,” said Catherine Barnes, program coordinator.

The DCS catalog is available at the Administration Building, 900 Grant St., Kaleidoscope Corner sites and Gove, Hamilton and Morey schools. It will soon be displayed online at http://dce.dpsk12.org/
