Denver City Councilman Ed Thomas will present a check for $20,600 - the proceeds from a golf tournament - to Morey Middle School, 840 E. 14th. Ave., at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15.

"I'm so happy to be able to support the public schools in my district and help make them better places for students to learn," said Councilman Thomas.

The presentation will be held at 8:15 a.m. in the Morey library on the second floor.

For four years in a row, Councilman Thomas has made significant contributions to public schools. Previous donations have gone to Bromwell Elementary School, The Moore School, and P.S. 1 Charter School.

The money was raised during a June golf tournament at Denver's Wellshire Golf Course.
