Denver School of the Arts Students Lila Creighton & Sarah Goode of Denver placed 3rd in the nation in their category with their video: "Women's Suffrage: First the West . . . Then the Nation" at the National History Day Competition (June 9-13) in College Park Maryland at the University of Maryland.
In addition, Baker Middle School's Jonathan Castellano, Sabino Fernandez, Antonio Madrigal, Chris Montour, and Daniel Rhine received medals when their performance was recognized as the best Junior Division entry from the state of Colorado.
"We had a great trip to National History Day! Denver Public Schools and Colorado did better this year than ever before!" said Becky Muggli, Student Activities Specialist. "It was such a marked improvement that the question being asked by other state coordinators was: "What is going on in Colorado?"
