DPS Students Finish As Top Teams In Destination ImagiNation Global Finals

"We had a wonderful trip to the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals," said Becky Muggli, Student Activities Specialist. "For the first time in many years, Colorado had a strong showing, with six fourth place teams, one third place team, one second place team, and one first place team. Three of these top teams were from Denver Public Schools. It was pretty exciting!"

Destination ImagiNation is an international organization that encourages student participants to stretch their minds and think outside the box to develop creative solutions to five different challenges. The international competition was held May 22 - 25 at the University of Tennessee. The following DPS teams placed:

Fourth Place - On Holiday, Secondary Division: John F. Kennedy High School

Janet Boyles and Nancie Campbell, Team Managers

Third Place - StranDId!, Elementary Division: Bromwell Elementary School

Second Place - On Holiday, Secondary Division: West High School

Candy Mowery and Angie Kullhem, Team Managers

Students spend months researching, writing scripts, building props, designing and making costumes, learning to think on their feet, and practicing their solutions to prepare for this competition.
