Force Elementary Band Ends Year With Concert

Force Elementary School, which was afforded the opportunity to provide instrumental music for its intermediate students through VH-1 "Save The Music" grants, is presenting its long anticipated concert, "The Band of Force" for the community on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:00 pm.

Performance assemblies for students will take place earlier at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Over 40 fourth- and fifth-grade students have participated in the instrumental music program this year under the direction of music teacher Alan Martin, who seeks to expose students to various genres of musical experiences.

"We're seeking to develop well rounded students," says Martin. "Students who can appreciate contemporary music as well as the classics."

Included on the concert play list is Brahms "Theme from Symphony 1," "Montego Bay," John Edmondson's "Anasazi" (a Navajo word meaning "the ancient ones"), along with other student solos and duets.

This concert is being presented at no charge as an arts service for the Force community.

Please call Mr. Alan Martin at Force Elementary at 303-935-3595 for more information. Force Elementary School is located at 1550 S. Wolff Street.
