The 17th Annual Asian Education Advisory Council Awards program will be held Sunday, May 19 at the Marriott Hotel, 6363 Hampden Ave.
The event begins with breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and runs until about 11:30 a.m. State Senator Stan Matsunaka will deliver his speech at 9:45 a.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m.
The 2002 AEAC Awards will be given to paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, 19 elementary school students, 35 middle school students, and 40 high school students. A community service award and an award for AEAC Service will also be given. Entertainment will be provided by Taiko with Toni (at approximately 10 a.m.).
The event is sponsored by AT&T Broadband, Wells Fargo, Premier Bank, Raytheon Corporation, the Asian Chamber of Commerce, and the Asian Pacific Bar Association.
The Asian Education Advisory Council works to improve educational opportunities and to provide quality education for all students in general and Asian students in particular.
