Winners Of Computer Aided Design Contest Will Be Honored Wednesday, May 15

The National Association of Women in Construction, Metro Denver #112, held the annual Computer Aided Design (CAD) Contest last month at the Career Education Center.

On Wednesday, May 15 an awards banquet will be held to honor the winners, including first-place Grant Preisser (George Washington High School), second-place Jason Coby (Montbello High School), and third-place Sarah St. Clair (Career Education Center). The banquet will be held at the Red Lion Inn, 1975 Bryant Street, beginning at 6 p.m.

The students were asked to design and develop on their CAD system a teen center for a suburban community. The contest provided building and site requirements to students and the teen center was to appeal to teenagers as a fun place to “hang out.” The project had to include indoor and outdoor activities along with ADA handicap accessibility, a lobby, dance floor, video screen, kitchen, storage, parking and restrooms. Students were requested to submit at least six drawings with a 400-500 word narrative.
