A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m. to mark the "official" start of construction on a state-of-the-art school building. The facility will house the DPS Odyssey Charter School (K-8) and a new DPS elementary school to serve the needs of the Stapleton community.

The ceremony will be held at the E.G.O.S. Aircraft Training Facility (8301 East Montview Ave.) Board member Kevin Patterson will be the Master of Ceremonies.

The Odyssey School's curriculum is built upon a school program developed through Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound and the New American School Development Corp. The school has a strong emphasis on the fine arts and links many of its learning expeditions to the Denver community.
