Actor and producer Daniel Valdez will be at Baker Middle School (574 W. 6th Ave.) on Tuesday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to conduct two assemblies.

"In an effort to motivate my kids, I've been bringing in writers, artists, and poets to inspire them," said Baker Middle School Principal Larry Padilla. "Working with Centro Su Teatro, we were able to bring Valdez to our school."

Valdez produced and acted in "La Bamba," "El Corrido," "Zoot Suit," "Selena the Musical," and many other movies. He has a best selling album and sang opposite Linda Ronstadt in her stage production "Canciones de mi Padre."
