Denver Public Schools‚ Career Education Center will host the Spring Student Photographers of Colorado Contest on Friday, April 19. The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students from the Career Education Center, Arapahoe/Douglas Area Vocational School and Aurora Public Schools‚ T. H. Pickens Technical Center will participate.

Students will be judged in the following areas: portfolio review, printing a standard black and white negative, completing a photo assignment and a written test.

The purpose of this contest is to evaluate each contestant's mastery of entry-level job skills and to recognize outstanding students for excellence and professionalism in the field of commercial photography.

The Career Education Center is located at 2650 Eliot Street in northwest Denver, two blocks south of Speer Blvd. and one block east of Federal Blvd.
