The East Theatre Company including students studying drama, vocal music, instrumental music, and dance presents its production of "CABARET", on March 7, 8, and 9, 2002.
The presentations begin at 7:00 p.m. in the East High School Auditorium. Tickets are on sale for $9.00 at the door.
"CABARET" was inspired by one of the most significant political novels of the 20th Century. "Goodbye to Berlin", written by Christopher Isherwood in 1939, is a depiction of the glittering and grotesque metropolis of Berlin during the decadent Weimar Republic. Christopher Isherwood wrote from his experiences in Germany and his depictions of the interaction between culture, commerce, and the decadence and exuberance manifested in the Berlin cabarets. It is a masterful observation of the diversity and fragmentation of life in Berlin.
The East Theatre Company has a tradition of presenting entertaining and thought provoking presentations to the Denver community.
The East Theatre Company is completely self-financed, receiving no funds from the Denver Public Schools. Community patronage is greatly appreciated.
