On March 6th and 7th, the Denver School of the Arts Band Department will present, "I Let A Song Go Out of My Heart" – CD release concerts featuring some of Denver's finest student instrumentalists.

The CD, titled after Ellington's great composition, is a compilation of the DSA Wind Ensemble and Jazz Workshop Orchestra – two highly decorated ensembles at local competitions and festivals.

The concert will feature both of these ensembles, the Concert Band and Jazz Link Big Band.

The concert Wednesday (March 6th) will also honor long time Denver big band jazz and music educator Dean Bushnell. Mr. Bushnell, who has had a working big band in the Denver area for over 50 years, was also a very successful music teacher in Denver at many schools including Byers Junior High School, located where DSA is housed today (150 S. Pearl St.).

The concerts start at 7 p.m. at the Denver School of the Arts Black Box Theater. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, students and seniors.
