On Friday, March 22 Maria Mitchell Elementary School will host a Community Fair for 25 community agencies to provide information about their services. Several agencies will also give presentations.
The fair will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the school, 1350 E. 33rd Ave. The fair is running in conjunction with the school's parent-teacher conferences that day.
Agencies planning to attend include:
- Denver Housing Authority, including Section 8
- Denver Health
- Inner City Heath
- Project PAVE (violence prevention)
- LEAP (assistance with public service)
- Curtis Park Community Resource Center
- St. Charles Recreation Center
- Metro CareRing (food and clothing)
- Focus Points (education)
Highlights include the following topics:
- Health 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Education 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Employment 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Housing 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Financial 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Legal 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
- Counseling 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
