Sixty-two team and individual entries from Denver Public Schools will compete in the Colorado History Day at the University of Colorado on April 27.
The teams were selected as state qualifiers during the March 9 Denver History Day at Hamilton Middle School.
Last year, DPS sent 38 teams to the state competition.
For the competition, students research a topic of their choice based on the theme and prepare entries that may be in the form of historical papers, documentaries (media presentation), live performances, or exhibits. The theme for the 2002 competition is "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History."
Following the state competition, winners will move on to National History Day at the University of Maryland in June. The district has earned many state and national trophies in previous years.
