The underlying principle of West High School's "Renaissance" program is to identify areas for improvement and do something about them.

"Through an extensive support system of teachers, students and business partners, we will make a difference," says West principal Marsha Chavez. "Our goal is for students to raise their grade point averages, improve attendance, sign up to learn about leadership and take a good look at what real character is all about."

During a "Renaissance Rally" scheduled for Friday, February 8, West High School will recognize students for many positive achievements.

The rally will take place in the school's gym beginning at 12:45 p.m.
