Community Meetings At Mitchell Elementary School To Discuss Student Safety

Following the abduction case yesterday at Mitchell Elementary School, principal Reggie Robinson has invited parents to two community meetings to discuss student safety.

The first will be held this evening at 5 p.m. in the school auditorium. The second will be held at 7:45 a.m. Thursday morning, February 28. Mitchell parents are welcome to attend one of the two meetings.

Denver Public Schools Safety and Security Office, the DPS Community Relations office, and Denver Police Department will all be represented at both meetings.

“We need to ask parents to help us work with students and remind them about steps they can take to avoid being lured into cars or any situation with people they do not know,” said Mitchell principal Robinson. “We also want to listen to parents and make sure that, as a school, we are doing all we can to protect our students.”
