George Washington High School Brings Home Medals From North American Invitational Model United Nations Meet

Congratulations to the Model United Nations team from George Washington High School for their outstanding performance at the North American Invitational Model United Nations meet last weekend in Washington, D.C.

Honorable mention (second place) awards went to junior David Back (as vice-president of China), senior Steve Morel as the United Nations ambassador in the United States Security Council, and juniors Roger Low and Abe Handler representing Pakistan in the World Health Organization.

Also, junior Aaron Kaplan was best justice (first place) for the U.S. Supreme Court. Teacher Leslie Whitty sponsors the Model United Nations team at George Washington. The team has also won two best school awards at two Colorado meets this year – at Regis University on October 6, 2001 and at Smoky Hill High School on December 1, 2001.
