East High School Awards Program Thursday, February 21

Parents and community members will join the staff of East High School in celebrating strong academic performance by freshmen and sophomores during the first semester. The awards program will be held Thursday, February 21 at 8 a.m. in East High School's Panek Gymnasium.

The parent turnout last week for the first half of the program – when juniors and seniors were honored – was strong. Many parents left the celebration in awe of the student performances and the diverse group of students who were recognized.

In all, 858 of the school's 1809 students are maintaining a 3.0 grade point average. About 40 percent of those 858 are maintaining at least a 4.0 grade point average, said Wes Paxton, Assistant Principal at East High School.

The East High School Parent Teacher Association sponsors the recognitions. East High School is located at 1545 Detroit Street. Please call the school for more information, 303-394-8300.
