Smedley Elementary School Seeks Alumni, Neighbors, Community Members With Information, Mementoes, And Memories; 100th Anniversary Coming Up

Smedley Elementary School in northwest Denver is fast approaching its 100th anniversary this spring.

In preparation for a celebration at the school, Smedley Elementary School principal Alfonso Jacquez is asking for former students, faculty and community members to share any photographs, drawings, memorabilia, or mementoes from the school's first 100 years.

"Smedley is an integral part of north Denver," said principal Jacquez, "and my hunch is that parents and former students and others have personal items that might help us as a school community reflect on how far we have come as a school. We are planning a major celebration and interesting items will be prominently displayed and then gratefully returned. We would also welcome any personal stories or memories that anybody wants to share."

Smedley is located at 4250 Shoshone Street. Please call the school at 303-433-3321 if you have information about the school's first century.
