Fairmont Elementary School (520 W. Third Ave.) will be dedicating its new playground TODAY, November 7th, at 1:30 p.m. The new playground is part of the "City 7" playground improvement project. It includes 62-thousand square feet of new sod for the playing field, new playground equipment with ADA accessibility, and hard surface areas for games like foursquare and tether ball. Fairmont Elementary School is located at 520 W. Third Ave.

The playground is a "learning landscape" or interactive learning playground made possible through a partnership with the University of Colorado at Denver. Other sponsors of the playground include the Mayor's Office (Neighborhood and Housing Development Services), the Gates Family Foundation, Donnell-Kay Foundation, Denver Public Schools, Fairmont Elementary School and the Baker neighborhood community.
