Since 1989, Spellbinders volunteers
have shared their stories with thousands of Denver Public Schools
students, growing from 6 members in 1989 to over 60 currently.
In January, 2002 an orientation and training for all new storytellers
will be offered.
This four-day training will be held at Virginia Village Public Library,
1500 South Dahlia Street, Denver, from 10:00-12:30 pm on the following
dates - Monday, January 2; Wednesday, January 9; Monday, January
14; and Friday, January 18.
You may sign up for the training and help spread the gift of storytelling
in the Denver Public Schools. Volunteer today! For more information
on this training or Spellbinders, please call Louise Gerber at 720-423-3694

Spellbinders is a national organization that provides volunteer
training and materials in the art of oral storytelling. The mission
of Spellbinders is to create connections between generations through
the art of storytelling in order to pass on the wisdom, values,
humor, and sense of community embodied in stories of all cultures
and all times. Spellbinders volunteers tell stories of their choice
from folktales to personal experiences, emphasizing stories that
reflect the Spellbinders mission.
