Applicants Sought For Two Elementary Principalships To Help Launch Schools In Fast-Growing Lowry And Montbello Neighborhoods

Denver Public Schools is actively seeking principals to help open new elementary schools in two fast-growing neighborhoods.

One school will be located in Montbello, where a new elementary school also just opened this year (Greenwood Elementary School). That school, known informally as Gateway Elementary School will be located at 16000 Maxwell Drive.

The other school, Lowry Elementary School, will be the first school to open on the former U.S. Air Force Base along the eastern edge of the city. That school will be located at 8001 E. Cedar Ave.

Complete job descriptions and information can be found through the Department of Human Resources web page at http://hr.dpsk12.org/jobs.

The schools are set to open in August 2002, but the district seeks to hire principals so they can begin hiring teachers, purchasing materials, and organizing the school in January 2002.

Applicants must hold a valid State of Colorado Type D Certificate Endorsed Principal, or a Colorado Principal License, or authorization and have previous experience in a principal role.

Interested applicants should submit a completed administrator application, current resume and cover letter to: Nancy Swanson, Human Resources, Denver Public Schools, 900 Grant Street, Denver, CO 80203 (Fax: 720-423-3569) or e-mail: Nancy_Swanson@dpsk12.org.

Review of applications will begin November 5, 2001.
