The tables will be turned at Fairview Elementary when the school holds "Bring Your Parent to School Day."

Instead of parents bringing their children to work, Fairview staff thought it would be just as important for parents to see what a day at school is like for their children.

"Parent involvement at Fairview has been very sparse," said Fairview Elementary Principal Norma Giron. "Our faculty believes that we must reach out to our parents and welcome them into their school. We are trying to become the community school rather than the school in the community."

Students will bring their parents to school on Friday, November 16. Fairview is located at 7215 W. 11th Ave.

The schedule will be as follows:
8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. - Breakfast (catered by Flying Horse)
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Classroom visits followed by lunch together
1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Classroom visits
