Rosedale Fifth-Grader Wins Savings Bond For Artwork

Aaron Baltz, a fifth-grader at Rosedale Elementary School, will be presented with a $50 US Savings Bond for the winning design he entered in a district-wide art contest. That design will grace the cover of this year's Denver Public Schools Speaker's Catalog produced by Community Resources, Inc., a non-profit partner with DPS.

"This is an exciting chance for Aaron to expose his artwork," said Rosedale Principal Khoa Nguyen. "Aaron is a special needs student. Hopefully, this recognition will help him realize his talents."

The award will be presented to Aaron at a school assembly on October 17th at 11:00 a.m. Rosedale is located at 2330 South Sherman St.

"Aaron took our logo and created a nice rendition we felt expressed what we are all about," said Cyndi Burdick, Community Resources, Inc. "And that's supporting schools and families for the betterment of kids."

The catalog, which goes out to all schools that have signed up for the program, provides more than 700 speakers for schools to choose from.

Note: Rosedale will also kick-off "E-books" at this school assembly for the schools main fundraiser. The E-books, which are filled with discount coupons, help the school pay for the field trips.
