Greater Northside Invitational Golf Tournament Coming Up
June 29, 2001
The Greater Northside Invitational is just a month away and golfers are still needed for the event that benefits students from North High School.
The four-person scramble will be held at Willis Case Golf Course in North Denver and teams as well as individuals are being sought to play in the tournament, which is scheduled for August 4 and will begin at 11 a.m.
The prizes at the 2001 Greater Northside Invitational will be spectacular, with a new car to be given away for a hole-in-one one of the course's Par 3 holes. A silent auction will also be held to raise funds with items such as a round of golf with carts for four players at West Woods Golf Course in Arvada up for bid.
The real winners of the Greater Northside Invitational are, of course, the graduates of the local high school who go on to pursue further education. Proceeds from the tournament go directly to the North Side High School Alumni Scholarship Foundation with scholarships then awarded to students from North to assist them in furthering their education.
Entry to the tournament is $100 per player and that includes green fees, cart, dinner, food and beverages on the course and a goodie bag for each participant. Players can enter as a team or an individual; registration is needed by July 5 at noon. To be a part of this year's Greater Northside Invitational, pick up an entry in the North Denver Tribune or call Chris Boyer at 303-455-8654.
