Joint Statement From Craig Cook And Jerry Wartgow

June 19, 2001

Mr. Craig Cook, Chief Operating Officer of the School District, and new Superintendent, Dr. Jerry Wartgow, have discussed Dr. Wartgow's plans for the administrative reorganization related to the responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer. Based on those discussions, Mr. Cook has decided to resign from his position as Chief Operating Officer. This allows Dr. Wartgow the opportunity to move ahead with his reorganization plans.

The Board of Education wishes to acknowledge the strong contribution of Mr. Cook as Chief Operating Officer over the past seven years. During that period of time, he has significantly strengthened the administrative and support services of the District, and has particularly contributed to strengthening the overall financial position of the District.

The Board of Education and Superintendent are deeply appreciative of that effort and contribution, and wish Mr. Cook every success in his future endeavors. In turn, Mr. Cook has expressed his strong support and best wishes for Dr. Wartgow and the School District.
