Place Middle School Project
To Be Highlighted April 3
April 2, 2001
The sixth-grade Tiger Team and the Earthkeepers Club will be the subject
of a visit tomorrow (April 3) to Place Middle School by the National Commission
on Service-Learning.
Students at Place Middle School have created an outdoor classroom with
a trail and raised planting beds. Place students maintain the trail, which
is accessible for students with physical challenges.
The trail is often used by science classes at the school and by walkers
and bikers in the neighborhood.
The groups have also been involved with the clean-up along nearby Cherry
Creek and a water-testing project with the city.
The visit at Place will begin at 9:00 a.m. and run for two hours. Place
is located at 7125 Cherry Creek N. Drive.
The National Commission on Service-Learning is holding a conference in
Denver this week and plans to use Place as a visitation site for conference
participants.
For more information, please call Place Middle School principal Linda
Johnson at 303-758-6111.
