Spellbinders Seeks Volunteers To Learn The Art Of Storytelling; Training Available In May

April 27, 2001

Spellbinders is a national organization that provides volunteer training and materials in the art of oral storytelling. The mission of Spellbinders is to create connections between generations through the art of storytelling in order to pass on the wisdom, values, humor, and sense of community embodied in stories of all cultures and all times.

Spellbinders volunteers tell stories of their choice from folktales to personal experiences, emphasizing stories that reflect the Spellbinders mission.

Since 1989, Spellbinders volunteers have shared their stories with thousands of Denver Public Schools students, growing from 6 members in 1989 to over 60 currently.

In May, the group will hold a spring orientation and training for all new storytellers.

This four-day training will be held at the Denver Public Schools Administration Building from 4:30-7:30 pm on the following dates:

  • Monday, May 14
  • Wednesday, May 16
  • Monday, May 21
  • Wednesday, May 23
