Jackie Robinson's Daughter,
Sharon, to Present "Breaking Barriers: In Sports, In Life" Speech
to Oakland Elementary School Children

Sharon Robinson, daughter of Jackie Robinson, will be making two stops
in Denver to speak to students about the barriers they face as children
on April 24, 2001. "Breaking Barriers: In Sports, In Life,"
is an educational program that celebrates athletes, historical figures
and students who have broken barriers to achieve success.
Robinson will be at Oakland Elementary School, 4580 Dearborn St., at 10:30
a.m. in the auditorium. Robinsonâs second visit is at Horace Mann
Middle School, 4130 Navajo, at 1:30 p.m. in the choir room.
Sharon is Director of Educational Programming at Major League Baseball
and has worked with teachers over the years to develop "Breaking
Barriers: In Sports, In Life." The program is sponsored by Major
League Baseball and contains curriculum connections to social studies,
language arts, math and science.
