Superintendent Candidate Jerry Wartgow To Tour Schools, Answer Questions At Community Forum

Superintendent candidate Jerry Wartgow will visit schools across the district today and answer questions during a community forum this evening.

Today's schedule for Wartgow's public events follow:

  • 9:30 - 10:15 a.m., visit Skinner Middle School (3435 W. 40th Ave.)
  • 10:30 - 11:15 a.m., visit Manual High School (1700 E. 28th Ave.)
  • 1:30 - 2:00 p.m., press availability, Palmer Elementary School (995 Grape St.).
  • 2:00 - 2:45 p.m., visit Palmer Elementary School
  • 6:30 - 8:00 p.m, community forum, First Floor Board Room at the administration building, 900 Grant Street.

The community forum will be carried live on Denver Public Schools' cable station, Channel 22 in Denver. The forum will also be re-broadcast immediately following the event and Thursday morning (April 19) at 7 a.m.

Wartgow is President Emeritus, Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System.

Two other superintendent candidates are Jim Polsfut, chairman of Cordillera Asset Management in Denver, and Libia Gil, Superintendent of Chula Vista Elementary School District in California.

Gil and Wartgow participated in similar tours Monday and Tuesday this week.
