Superintendent Candidate Jim Polsfut To Tour Schools, Answer Questions At Community Forum

Superintendent candidate Jim Polsfut will visit schools across the district today and answer questions during a community forum this evening.

Today's schedule for Polsfut's public events follow:

  • 9:15 -10:00 a.m., visit John Amesse Elementary School (5440 Scranton St.)
  • 10:30 - 11:15 a.m., visit George Washington High School (655 S. Monaco St.)
  • 1:30 - 2:00 p.m., press availability, Lake Middle School, 1820 Lowell Blvd.
  • 2:00 - 2:45 p.m., visit Lake Middle School
  • 6:30 - 8:00 p.m, community forum, First Floor Board Room at the administration building, 900 Grant Street.

The community forum will be carried live on Denver Public Schools' cable station, Channel 22 in Denver. The forum will also be re-broadcast immediately following the event.

Polsfut, chairman of Cordillera Asset Management in Denver, is one of three candidates being considered by the Board of Education.

Libia Gil, Superintendent of Chula Vista Elementary School District in California, and Jerry Wartgow, President Emeritus, Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System, are the other two candidates.

Gil toured schools and visited classrooms yesterday (April 16). Wartgow is due to follow a similar schedule tomorrow (April 18).
