38 DPS Entries Headed To
State History Day Competition
Thirty-eight team and individual entries
from Denver Public Schools will compete in the Colorado History Day at the
University of Colorado April 27.
The teams were selected as state qualifiers during the March 3 Denver History
Day at Hamilton Middle School.
The 38 individual and group entries in the competition were selected from
290 total entries.
For the competition, students research a topic of their choice based on
the theme and prepare entries that may be in the form of historical papers,
documentaries (media presentation), live performances, or exhibits. This
year's theme is "Frontiers In History - People, Places, Ideas."
Following the state competition, winners will move on to National History
Day at the University of Maryland in June. Last year, Denver Public Schools
was home to a national winner. The district has also earned many state trophies
