Forum At Smedley March 22
The Board of Education will host its fourth
Community Forum of the 2000-2001 school year this week at Smedley Elementary
School on Thursday, March 22.
All community members, school parents, teachers, and students are invited
to attend. The forums are designed to offer a chance for more informal conversations
between the community and the Board about educational issues.
The forum will begin at 7:00 p.m. and run for about two hours. Those wishing
to speak about an issue with the Board of Education may sign up at Smedley
on the 22nd. A Spanish-speaking translator will be available.
Smedley Elementary School is located at 4250 Shoshone Street in northwest
Denver. The forum will be held in the school's new lunchroom.
Prior to the forum, the Board has scheduled a 4 p.m. work session to discuss
the topic of reapportionment for boundaries for the five district seats
on the Denver Board of Education. (The final two seats on the Board are
elected by the city on an at-large basis.) The work session will be held
at Smedley.
