Board Agenda For Special Legislative Meeting Feb. 22

The Board of Education has scheduled a special legislative meeting for Thursday, February 22.

The sole agenda item is the approval of a lease-purchase agreement for Denver Public Schools to acquire office space now being leased at 1330 Fox Street.

In November, the Board approved the idea of selling Certificates of Participation to finance the purchase, estimated to be $4.1 million. The district plans to sell those certificates Thursday. Another $500,000 will be raised with the sale of the certificates to finance renovation of the building.

The meeting will be held in the administration building's First Floor Board Room, 900 Grant Street, at 4:00 p.m.

The Board also has scheduled a work session for 4:15 p.m. in Room 706.

The agenda includes:

  • Closed (legal)
  • Non-adopted textbooks
  • High school construction site in Montbello
  • Denver School of the Arts construction project
  • Charge to Joint Task Force on Teacher Compensation
  • Technology update
