New Southwest School Registration Is January 29

Registration for the new southwest school will begin at noon on Monday, January 29, at the Grant Ranch Village Center. The new school will open in August 2001 for students in early childhood education and kindergarten through grade eight. The school is located at 5400 S. Jay Circle. James Kullhem, principal of Gust Elementary School for nine years and a 31-year DPS veteran, is the new principal.

Parents may register their children at the Grant Ranch Village Center, 7255 Grant Ranch Boulevard, from noon to 8 p.m. on the 29th. After the 29th, the school office will be open daily for registration as well as the next three Tuesday evenings. Parents who wish to register their children and live within the school boundaries must fill out a registration form. Parents who live outside the school boundaries can complete a Choice form at the school's Village Center office or any DPS elementary school.

An Open House will be held at the Village Center on Thursday, January 25, at 7:30 p.m. Parents and students are invited to come meet the principal and ask questions.
