Denver Public Schools Foundation Seeks Outstanding DPS Graduates From The 20th Century
The Denver Public Schools Foundation is seeking nominations for the DPS Alumni Hall of Excellence Awards celebration. The event, to be held October 24, 2001, at the Westin Tabor Center Hotel in downtown Denver, will recognize prominent and remarkable graduates from each decade of the Denver Public Schools' existence (1902-2002) and one outstanding graduate of the 20th century.
Residents throughout the state and country are asked to nominate DPS graduates who they feel are outstanding in their community, business or family life. Nomination forms are available online at www.dpsresources.org/dfo or by contacting the Denver Public Schools Foundation at 720-423-3773.
"Throughout the years, graduates of DPS have demonstrated their leadership at home and abroad, with their families and friends, among business associates and world leaders," said Nancy McLeod Carter, Denver Public Schools Foundation executive director. "The DPS Alumni Hall of Excellence Awards celebration will shine a spotlight on our heroes, their accomplishments and influence on other people, places and events, whether right here in Denver or around the world."
The Denver Public Schools Foundation was established in 1996 with an endowment from the Pepsi Cola Company. Through active support and dedication from the business and civic communities, the Denver Public Schools Foundation extends opportunities for success to bright, talented yet economically disadvantaged youth currently enrolled in the Denver Public Schools system.
