Five Charter School Proposals On Nov. 2 Agenda

The Board of Education has four meetings scheduled for Thursday, November 2.
The 4:00 p.m. Staff Hearing will include:
- Presentations by the Pay For Performance Review Committee;
- An update from the Department of English Language Acquisition;
- A recommendation for a middle school site to house a consolidated program for highly gifted students.
- A discussion of the model Program Design Advisory Council report for Green Valley Elementary School.
A work session at approximately 5:00 p.m. will include an update on the superintendent search and a meeting schedule and charge for the Budget Advisory Committee.
At 7:00 p.m, the monthly public hearing will be held. Currently, six speakers are signed up to discuss the Garden Place playground and "CDM Matters," among other topics.
At 8:00 p.m., a special public hearing will allow organizers of five charter schools to make presentations.
Those five include:
- C/O K Group Inc. - Five Points Convergence Corridor High Tech Middle and High School
- Rite Of Passage Ridge View Academy
- Snowdrop Science School
- Truth-Tubman Transformational Learning Collaboratory
- Twenty-Fifth Street Academy
All meetings except for the work session will be held in the First Floor Board Room at 900 Grant Street and will be carried on cable television (Channel 22) in Denver. The work session will be held in Room 706.
