Board Meeting Agendas And Public Hearing For October 5

The Denver Board of Education has three meetings scheduled for Thursday, October 5, including the regular, monthly public hearing.

Following are the tentative agendas for the two meetings prior to the public hearing:

1. Staff Presentations, 4 p.m., First Floor Board Room

• Middle School Gifted and Talented Program consolidation
• Summer school review
• New Montbello elementary school - report from the Program Design Advisory Committee

2. Work Session

• Parent Advisory Council Report
• Charge to Schools
• Student information system - update
• Salary schedule for Department of Technology Services
• Administrator Appeals - Pay for Performance
• Air conditioning for new classroom additions
• Negotiations/Personnel (Closed)

3. Public Hearing

To date, 13 speakers have signed up to speak on topics including the CDM process at South High School, the proposed school-year calendar for 2001-2002, gifted education, and the DPS Parents At School Program.
